I found it very depressing that as the new series of X Factor kicked off on its search for this years famous for 5 minutes award, that a real talent such as Robbie Williams should have to prostitute himself so desperately on the show in an attempt to re start his career. How demeaning for Robbie to have to stand amongst this crowd of dullards and have to pretend that they were really talented, and that he was very excited about working with them. My arse!  You could tell from Robbies manic performance on the show that he knew that he had to use his time there to sell his new project ,and to try and get his career back on line – sadly the song is very average and Robbies odd behaviour (!) distracted from the performance. The irony of  someone that came from the pre X Factor generation that had to work hard and do the rounds to make it big, now being reliant on the quick fix ( no) talent show to revive his fortunes, was stark.
